Arunachal Pradesh Home Stay Training Program
In September 2023, IIFL Foundation, in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) under the Ministry of Defense, REACHA, and with the support of Lohitpur Brigade and Dao Division, launched the first-ever ‘Home Stay Training Program’ in Arunachal Pradesh. Launched at Indira Gandhi Government College (IGGC) in Tezu, this initiative aimed to empower 160 underprivileged youth over the course of 12 months by providing them with comprehensive training in home stay hospitality. The curriculum focused not only on technical skills but also on essential soft skills such as communication, grooming, and computer proficiency. The success of this program is reflected in the achievements of six students from the first batch, who have secured placements at Sterling Hotels in Manali, Mussoorie, and Darjeeling. This milestone represents a meaningful contribution to regional prosperity and the empowerment of local youth.

In July 2024, six students from the Home Stay Training Program at Indira Gandhi Government College (IGGC) in Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh, supported by the IIFL Foundation, NCC, and REACHA, have successfully secured placements at Sterling Hotels in Manali, Mussoorie, and Darjeeling. The students, hailing from various districts in Arunachal Pradesh, represent the first batch of the program, which focuses on hospitality training, technical skills, and essential soft skills such as communication, grooming, and computer proficiency. This initiative, aligned with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's vision for Northeast development, marks a significant step towards empowering the youth and fostering regional growth.

In September, a reunion and counselling interaction was organised for trainees from Year 1, covering 1st to 4th batches of the program. The event witnessed active participation from the students, along with some of their parents who joined virtually. This gathering allowed trainees to share their experiences and discuss how the program has shaped their journey.
