IIFL Foundation Renovates Dharamshala (rest-house) at Maharana Bhupal Hospital

IIFL Foundation renovated a 70-year-old dilapidated Dharamshala (rest-house) at Maharana Bhupal Hospital in Udaipur for patients and their relatives visiting the hospital. The renovated Dharamshala, with all facilities, had 36 rooms, six halls, and 34 toilets, which could accommodate up to 300 people at one time. In March 2025, the Dharamshala was opened to the general public.
The Dharamshala offers long-term and short-term stays for relatives of patients being treated at Maharana Bhupal Hospital, which was a major health facility in Rajasthan state. Earlier, patients and their relatives had been sleeping on the road and floors of the hospital premises. The renovated hospital helps patients suffering from serious ailments like cancer to avail long-term stays along with their families for regular treatment and checkups. IIFL Foundation also created a beautiful landscaped garden and temple in the Dharamshala complex. Doctors could also see their patients inside the Dharamshala in emergency cases.
The Dharamshala was inaugurated by Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, in the presence of Shri Tara Chand Jain, Member of Legislative Assembly, Udaipur, Dr. Vipin Mathur, Principal, RNT Medical College, Shri Nirmal Jain, Founder of IIFL Group, Shrimati Madhu Jain, Director, IIFL Foundation, and other dignitaries.
